RPB Hosts Virtual AMD Event

In February, Research to Prevent Blindness held a virtual event, "RPB Lunch & Learn: Eye on AMD," designed to educate RPB's patient community on the management of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cutting-edge research. The event featured current and former RPB grantees:

  • Moderator Carl Romano, PhD, Executive Director and Head of Ophthalmology Research at Regeneron, who received an RPB Lew R. Wasserman Merit Award
  • Presenter Aparna Lakkaraju, PhD, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine, who received an RPB / American Macular Degeneration Foundation Catalyst Award for Innovative Approaches for AMD
  • Presenter Jordan Green, PhD, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Neurosurgery, Materials Science & Engineering, and Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, who received an RPB/Dr. H. James and Carole Free Catalyst Award for Innovative Approaches for AMD
